Help for Caregivers and Those Who are Grieving

Are you caring for someone with a serious illness? Do you or someone you know need help coping with the loss of a loved one? There are many support groups offered at Life Transitions Center, 150 Bennett Road in Cheektowaga, a number of them at no charge to the community:

  • Tues. Feb. 10: Suicide Bereavement Group – Offered on the second Tuesday of each month for adults who have experienced the death of a loved one from suicide. The group is led by a professional mental health counselor from 6:30 p.m. -8:30 p.m. Call to register or email Lynn Lyons at . 
  • Wed. Feb 18 and March 4: Caregiver Support Group- Offered on the first and third Wednesday of the month from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. for caregivers and those supporting a family member or friend coping with a serious illness. Call to register or email Lynn Lyons at
  • Tues. March 3: Alzheimer Support Group – offered the first Tuesday of each month from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. by the Alzheimer’s Assoc. of WNY Chapter. Call 1- for information.
